Far above the girl, the moon smiled through the fog, casting only a glimpse of light into the dark, isolated tunnel. The wind that only felt like a breeze earlier seemed to get stronger as she went deeper into the tunnel. It echoed off the walls, making it sound like a woman screaming, was it a woman screaming? The girl didn’t know, nor did she really want to find out. She wished she’d just listened to her dad, her sister was right no one should’ve gone there, both of them were right, maybe she should turn back. Run. Run far away. Never ever come ba- As she thought this, something touched her back, like a hand tracing her spine, soft but terrifying. Should she turn around? She didn’t know if she could. After a long minute of panic and deciding, she turned around. It was a leaf. Just a lonely leaf fallen on the floor. The girl laughed to herself. How stupid was she? Panicking about a leaf? But- wait a second…she was in the middle of a tunnel, there were no trees in here. The girl felt a swift movement of something, something behind her. She quickly turned around. A dark figure stood there with red crevices for eyes and no mouth, yet she could tell it was smiling… It was that monster- that monster from her dream! It’s real? It’s alive? Yes, alive it was, unlike the girl not long after.
